I really liked the map that you guys are making. The whole trip is cool. Beats hanging out with strangers on trains anyday.

1. A natural mosquito repellent is your good old bottle of vanilla. Just rub it on your exposed skin and bye bye mosquitos. It won't stain your skin, but I'd be careful about clothing.
2. One thing to consider with higher speeds is the increased stopping times...which can be dangerous if someone is multi-tasking (ie using a cell phone) and their reaction time is slowed.
3. When I viewed the power line section, I got a brief pain in the left side of my head....by osmosis? Woooo. Wooooo.

Exactly. I am starting to try to offer more solutions rather that just complaining about the government.

Sorry, if I remember correctly, my camera battery had died so I had to video the position I had saved on my watch after the fact. Unfortunately on the normal gps unit it can't save gps coordinates like that.

Thanks!

When I wrote "entered the decimal minutes correctly" I meant to write "entered the decimal minutes directly".

I have updated the map. The coordinates in today's video were from a different device than previous days. This caused a bit of a problem as the tool I was using to calculate decimal degress apparently gave the wrong answer when I entered the decimal minutes correctly. Converting first to minutes and seconds seems to have worked. (I have now added all of the points Brian posted a few days back.)
