What a cheery dancing bird!
Consensus may be a way of managing the project - in the sense that everyone agrees to a certain idea, way, etc. Even though that idea is not necessarily someone’s first choice, they agree to it for the good of the group.
I’ve been on top of Pike’s Peak in July (or possibly late June), when it was snowing, also!

Leaders need motivation skills rather than coercive power. We all produce most when it is our own decision to work together.
