I meant it more as a tool to use to try not to be upset about the past, if it's useful for you. But actually I do think that everyone's past selves are not them any more -- e.g. are you the same person you were 5 years ago? I'm not saying think I think everyone else should see it that way, but that's how I see it. As an example, I'm not saying it's as much of a "law" as gravity, but just for the sake of argument -- if you don't believe in gravity, that's your choice, but there might be consequences. ;) That’s a great question, Lauren!
