I listen to NPR. It definitely has a different style and a wider range than the corporate media. And very few commercials, which is refreshing. It’s interesting to note that only 33% of their budget is funded by coercion (governments). The majority of their budget comes from donations from individuals and corporations. I’m sure such a popular media source could survive without “public” funds, they’d just have to trim the fat a little bit.
