    If you draw a great circle line from Canon Beach, Oregon to Portsmouth, New Hampshire, you get an arc that is about 2584 miles long and which runs almost entirely north of Will’s route through North Dakota and Minnesota. The halfway point of that arc is just east of the boundary between those two geographical landmasses, about 8 miles south-southwest of Crookston, Minnesota. If you go south from there, you pass directly through Milbank, South Dakota, which Will passed through on this date.

    So congratulations on having crossed the half-way point!
