The various options with the RV and Subaru are mind-boggling! Although, I’m not clear on why you need to get rid of either one after John and Yuka leave. You could still park the RV, Brooke drives you to/from your walk points in the Subaru, and then you have the RV for preparing meals and sleeping.
One thing to consider in disposing of the RV is that you’d need to either (1) get camping things for preparing meals over a campfire or (2) eat the majority of your meals in restaurants/cafes. With a trailer for the Subaru, you could get a tent, sleeping bags and kitchen stuff for preparing meals. However, then the trailer would have to be part of the “caravan” to take you to and from the walk points since you probably shouldn’t just park the trailer somewhere and leave it “unguarded.”
And you’re right - trying to sell the RV now would likely mean taking a loss on it. If you want it out of the WFL, maybe someone could drive it to NH and park it somewhere for the winter. Then you could sell it next spring.
Decisions, decisions, decisions! I know you’ll miss John and Yuka’s assistance. Let’s hope Adam can join you!

I have been pondering those options as well. The RV has lots of benefits. I don’t really get what the downsides are. Something about heat and water. And maybe wastefully large for just two people. Oh, and awkward moving from spot to spot with fewer people to help ferry. Maybe do the math to see what the likely difference of the various options really is. I am sure gas is a big one.
You do have some really cold weather ahead.
Volunteers might help. Money, spare bedrooms, hot meals or an extra person for awhile to get you on down the road. If I weren’t in the middle of a house building project, I would come out and join you.

As I’m writing this, it is 9.17.08 - and I just read the following online:
Today is Constitution Day in the United States, because it was on this day in 1787, at the old State House in Philadelphia, that the final draft of the Constitution was signed.
Hip Hip Hooray for the Constitution!
