I used to retrieve about 2, 5 gallon buckets of golf balls out of a couple of ponds in the golf course. My nephew who was 9 years old, would make 25 cents per ball, so it seemed like a worthwhile recycling thing.

It’s supposed to help the ponds also, though i don’t remember exactly how it does.

Oh, the turtle….
I used to have one that had one back leg that had somehow been cut off, but the stump was healed by the time I found him. As he walked around the house, you could track his progress by the sound of his legs moving slowly forward: plod, plod, plod, CLUNK (as the shell hit the floor).

The price for cardboard is way up… the market is up.
I know that in NH towns… it does make sense to recycle.
Consider:
The cost to the town for 1 ton of garbage might be $40 to dispose of. Plus transport ($15).
That is $55 for one ton.
If the town can sell that garbage as recycled materials for even $1 that would be a net gain for the town of $56. And they sell if for more than $1. So it makes sense (at least at the town level) to recycle.
